Threads of Fate | Original Oil Painting
Three crows fly through a purple moonlit sky, gold, copper, and silver threads unraveling from their tails and weaving back together in the clouds below.
Threads of Fate was created for the 12th annual Crow Show at The Studio Door in Hillcrest, a national juried exhibition and one of San Diego's most beloved shows. This was my second year exhibiting in it. The painting explores what crows mean across cultures: omens, prophecy, the messengers that show up right before everything changes. The twisted metallic threads running through the composition are a nod to how fate is never really a solo act. The things that shape us rarely belong to us alone.
The piece lives in a palette of deep violet, soft lavender, and moonlit white, anchored by a glowing full moon and finished with real metallic ribbons of gold, copper, and silver that shift and catch the light as you move around it. Tiny gold stars scatter across the upper sky. It's moody and romantic at the same time.

Why Collectors Love This Piece A moody, symbolic work in a palette that reads both dramatic and romantic. The real metallic threads shimmer differently depending on the light in your room, giving the piece a quiet interactivity you won't get from any print. Strong presence at 18 x 24 without overwhelming a room. Lands beautifully in a bedroom, reading nook, entryway, or above a console. The floater frame finishes the piece in a way that feels gallery-ready the moment it arrives.
